We Must Still Call a Thing a Thing...

What do you see? Even the Bible tells us that there's nothing new under the sun...so seeing over 250 new proposed bills and legislation across the country intended to suppress and impede an American citizen executing their constitutional right in the form of a the ballot -goes back to the same kinds of tactics used in times past, just brought into the 21 century, to prevent certain people from gaining, maintaining or exercising their right to have their voices heard and their votes counted. Once again, in a democratic society supposedly based on the will of the people, common sense would tell you that the process for voting for all Americans should be made as easy as possible to ensure the will of the people is known. Voting should be as simple as filing a tax return online, or by mail or at Walmart and since there was not one iota of evidence of election fraud brought forth to any courthouse including the highest court in the land, controlled by appointees installed by the very character that sought their loyalty to cosign for his lies and criminal conduct- all of a sudden it becomes necessary to CHANGE the way voting takes place in this country. We as decent, honest American citizens can not be fooled by the motives behind these actions and it is our duty to stand up in every way possible against an effort to take us back to the days of post reconstruction, where blacks were denied their right to vote because they couldn't read- illegal for slaves- and when by chance they were able to- asked to count the number of bubbles in a bar of soap- or whatever they could invent or manufacture to control and thereby prevent them from exercising some semblance of collective power. Moreover, the call for "reaching across the aisle" to people who believe in werewolves and Frankenstein while abusing power to their own advantage to ensure that the status quo remains the status quo is 'fire', (that 's what the young people call it)- but it's real fire to my soul. I know as a believer, that the battle is not ours, its the Lord's, but the word also tells me that God is a God of truth and "...hates a a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community". (Eph 6:17-19) So we must always stand up against the darkness. Choose right over wrong, humanity or inhumanity and good over evil. We must still call a 'thing a thing' so that no one mistakes it for anything other than that 'thing' and refuse to succumb to a mentality that feels that only certain people are entitled to wield power. We still must stand firm and after having done all, the scriptures say (Ephesians 6:13-17) ''... to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." Hallelujah to the Father. Amen. Until next time...
